Week 6 - March

Exploring space design and AI

This week, we dove into a bunch of brand briefs and also created some content around common topics and themes that designers often experience. We shared our own experiences and insights, which was a nice way to reflect on how we work and the things we’ve learned along the way.

March also brought in some exciting new projects. One of the things I really love about working at Affogato is that no two days are the same. This week, I got to work on a space design for one of our clients, which was a first for me. Going through the process of planning a stall layout, ensuring easy access, incorporating brand elements, and making sure it’s visually attractive and draws people in — it was fun and definitely challenging.

With AI becoming more integrated into design, we used it this week to help bring our vision to life. The goal wasn’t to let AI generate the vision for us, but to use it as a tool to turn our ideas into visuals. It made me realise that in the near future, designers may shift to more of a curatorial role, using AI to enhance efficiency, but still relying on traditional processes and ideation to think and create.

On a personal note, I’m super excited about the upcoming IPL season and can’t wait to catch the matches after work. I’ve also been playing a lot of badminton this week with some new people, which has been a great way to stay active and meet fresh faces.
